I started this Blog to help me in my journey to get thinner and healthier. It helps me keep accountable with my exercise. I didn't get overweight over night and I am working hard to get back in shape. My friend told me that It's not a Sprint but that it's a Marathon!!

Another belthole

That's right...I'm adding another belt hole. I am so excited. I used the 5 that it has and now need a sixth. Hopefully you can see how much I've lost in my waist.
If you are interested in the Measuring containers, here is the link.

Last week I ordered this book about Dick Van Dyke.
I mean who doesn't LOVE Dick Van Dyke? Well.....turns out that he is 90 yrs old. He writes in his book a little bit about his tips and how he is keeping active until 90.
When he was 40 he found out that he had arthritis and told that in 5-7 yrs that he would be in a wheelchair. He was determined that it wasn't going to happen that way to him and today he is not in a wheelchair. He still dances and sings and has lots of life left. It is really interesting. He says he loves a couple spoons of ice cream with chocolate syrup in the evenings. He asked his DR if he should change that. The DR said Hey....it works for you and you are 90 so you keep right on and eat it if you want Ha! It is inspiring and gave me ideas to use. I wasn't thrilled to turn 60 but I decided that it is what I make it. I am embracing it and making the 60s count for new experiences, projects and just living life to have fun. Its a great book to read and if you'd like to order one, here's the link!! I would recommend it to a certain person that is having trouble turning 60!!! hint hint!! lol

Jan16th weigh in

Great News!!!!
I started this new exercise/eating program on Monday Jan 3rd. In 2 weeks I was able to loose 6 lbs. Yay!! I am thrilled to death about it. I didn't loose any inches except 1 inch in my hips. They say on a average people can loose 25 lbs in the 6 weeks but with me being older and a bit slower I don't anticipate that. I do have a goal of 20 in the 6 weeks which is a little over 6 1/2 a week so I am not too far off. Even though I lost it, I'm not ahead of myself because I basically lost the lbs that I put on over Christmas/New years but this next 2 weeks is going to be new lbs off.

The first video was pretty easy for me so last Monday I moved to the 2nd video.....well..... NOT quite as easy lol It definitely gives me a challenge and a workout. Squats, ab workout, arm workout and weights...sounds like fun huh? Ha!

My food is going pretty good. I ordered these cups from Beach body and they tell you how many to eat of what groups. I really like them.

Once you fill the sups and put them on the plate it is alot of food.
They say that you don't have to keep track of calories but I still do anyways just for knowledge. And I'm drinking tons of water...So here's to a new week of exercising, weigh training and getting my steps in. Have a great weekend!!

Jan 1st...Happy New Year weigh in

This is SOOOOoooo ME!!!!
Did I indulge over the Holidays? Yep.
Did I eat way too many cookies, fudge etc? Yep
Did I drink tons of pop? Yep
Did I want to get on the scales on Jan 1st? Nope
But actually it wasn't too bad....I was only up 4 lbs. I say Only....LOL
Any other time..Id be dying by these 4 lbs LOL
My Dec 15th weigh in was..well....0 lbs lost but lost another 1 1/2 inches. I couldnt complain because my Dec 1st ....I lost 5 1/2 inches. It was the 2nd time in a row that nothing was lost. My workout DVD that I had been using used to make me work but the past couple months..I wasnt even tired once I got through it. I loved that DVD..gotta love Richard Simmons lol
I was working so much....that my eating was off...my sleep was off and I had SO much to do over the holidays...I was in a weird place Ha...which I knew had a big part in this all. Then over Christmas it all fell apart with the food etc.

So.....I decided that I needed to reassess the situation and find something more challenging that will push my body. I found that when you do something over and over your body adjust to it and it gets to the point that it doesn't burn off any weight. Earlier I had come across my online Coach Jess. She is very helpful and I searched out the videos looking for the right one for me. I was going to do the 21 day Fix but I found this Slim in 6. I read the reviews and they were really good. On a average you should be able to loose 25 lbs in 6 weeks..if you follow the exercise, eating plan etc. Of course, everyone's body is different so I decided to give it a try. It comes with a nutrition guide, a workout planner to keep track of what you do etc. It doesn't kill me but it sure gives me a workout and it targets all areas of your body....and it is actually kinda fun to do. There are 3 DVDs and they build off of the other and there are about 6 workouts on each video so I have my work cutout for me and I am really excited about it and to see the results in 6 weeks.
My trainer Jess used this for her first one too and she lost 60+ with it so we will see. I have 57 to loose and want to loose it before the retreat in June. I have my work cutout for me.
It has a different food plan that I am trying to get used to:
Breakfast, Snack
Lunch, Snack
Dinner, Snack and no eating 2-3 hrs before you go to bed.
I have the tendency to not eat enough so to me this is like over eating lol They also have the colored containers and you just fill them and eat then you don't have to worry about calories, measuring etc. It tells you how many of each container to eat a day and workout twice a day.
They should be arriving any day now. I think that will be helpful for me and my hubby as he is walking on the dreaded treadmill to get his off.

I thought that work would slow down after Christmas/New Years and I am working 7 days in a row!! At least we are back to normal store hours again instead of being open until 11:30 pm. That will help me sleep alot. I am getting steps in with my fitbit so that helps me too. Its all such a process but I believe that it will all have been worth come next summer. I am so anxious for new clothes and to feel and look awesome again!! So I just keep plugging along.

I hope you all had a wonderful New Years and I thank you all for faithfully reading and hanging around my blog. It really does mean so much to me and I'm sorry that Ive been MIA but hoping to get back to some normalcy again. HA!
